By speaking out, you immediately let senior scam artists know that you are not vulnerable.  Educate your friends, loved ones, peers and local community to be able to recognize and identify a scam, to protect themselves against scam artists, and to report victimization.

Scams targeting the elderly often go unreported because victims are ashamed or afraid to share what has happened to them, even with family members.  Sometimes family members may even be involved in the crime you need to report.  As difficult as it may seem, it is vital to do your part and inform proper authorities about suspicious activity to get the assistance you need.  Your information may also help a fellow citizen avoid what has happened to you.
