Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly (CARIE)
PAVE and the Pennsylvania Senior Medicare Patrol (PA-SMP) at CARIE

CARIE’s signature program is the CARIE LINE, a free telephone service for older adults providing counseling and problem resolution, with special assistance offered to victims of crime or abuse. CARIE’s PAVE (Providing Advocacy for Victimized Elders) program provides these services, as well as court accompaniment to Philadelphia's Criminal Justice Center and other assistance navigating the criminal justice system. CARIE’s PA-SMP works to curb fraud and abuse in the Medicare and Medicaid systems through volunteer educators, Medicare beneficiaries, who teach their peers about protecting themselves and Medicare. All services are free and confidential.
